Evan’s Eats: Grinders Pizza

Evan Block, Staff Writer

Looking for a tasty new restaurant to try?  Grinders Pizza, located in the Kansas City Cross Roads Arts District is a great place to start.  Grinders has been featured on the popular Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and has also won multiple local food awards for their pizza and wings.  Having tried all the local pizza favorites such as Pizza 51, Waldo’s Pizza, Minsky’s, and Sarpinos, I have drawn the conclusion that Grinders has the best pizza and wings in Kansas City.

My Experience

I went to Grinders and ordered a 16 inch pepperoni pizza and the 12 piece chicken wings. After eating the divine hot wings and heavenly pizza, I was absolutely stuffed. The molten wings are covered with a hot sauce that is just the right amount of hot for the average wing connoisseur. The wings are also seasoned with Grinders special mix of spices and served with a side of homemade ranch. Grinders New York style pizza certainly did not disappoint. The pizza sauce is a combination of sweet and spicy, while the crust is very doughy. Simply put, the pizza looks and tastes delightful. Do you like to pair a beer with your pizza? Grinders has an extensive list of craft and light draft beers  that will compliment your dining experience.
