A latte to love
April 26, 2023
Whether I am desperate to get out of the house, have homework piled on, or just need a little extra pep in the day, I always can count on a latte. Sometimes sweet, bitter, cold, or hot, there always seems to be a perfect recipe to what you are looking for. The same goes for finding the perfect study location or a place to catch up with friends. The options in Kansas City are limitless, so here are three of my favorites!
Messenger Coffee Company – 1624 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108
Messenger Coffee Company is what immediately pops into my head when I am craving a perfectly crafted latte with original flavors and syrups. The atmosphere is unbeatable with three floors filled with unique spaces to work and a rooftop patio. Messenger is my favorite place to go when I need to study for a few hours, and I can always find a table open! The weekends are extremely busy, but I have never had any problems during the work week.
Oddly Correct – 4141 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64110
Just a few blocks from Rockhurst, Oddly Correct has quickly made their way into my favorites! I love their commitment to sustainability, as they bring your coffee in a glass jar and allow you to bring the jar back for a discount the next time! The fun and unique study spaces really feed into the atmosphere and aesthetic of Oddly Correct. I’ve found this spot to be a favorite of many other locals so finding a table might be tricky!
HiTides Coffee – 519 E 18th St, Kansas City, MO 64108
When looking for something a little different and unique, my favorite recommendation is HiTides! This tropical themed shop in the heart of downtown Kansas City makes you feel like you are thousands of miles away in a coffee hideout on a Hawaiian beach. From the decorations to the peaceful luau music, the feel of this hidden gem is incomparable. There is always an open table and a great place to bring a book or catch up with friends!

These are the basics we need an actual review and the best of the best. Where is hi hat or Mother Earth or the filling station. It’s the tiny spots that count and make this city what it is in the coffee business.
