Seniors, how many times during the last few months have you been asked, “What are your plans after graduation?”

I’m willing to bet that that single question probably stressed you out until you finally were able to respond with an answer. Recently, I took to social media to ask some seniors this dreaded question myself, along with what degree they’ll be handed as they walk across the stage at Bartle Hal May 13. Here are some of their responses:

“Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and working as a Nurse on the Transplant Unit at KU Med. I am excited and motivated to use my education to serve people in need as a new nurse.” –Derek Ederle

“Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and Physics of Medicine and receiving my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.” –Matt Rancilio

Degree in Marketing and Psychology and getting my MBA at Rockhurst while working at CBIZ.” –Erika Celoni

Bachelors in Communication Science and Disorders and then graduate school for Speech Pathology at Fontbonne University in St. Louis.” –Meg Walukonis

BSN and working in the NICU at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis” –Rachael Dreher

Bachelors of Science in Math and Bachelor of Arts for Spanish and attending UMKC Dental School” –Annie Haman

For those undergrads who still have some time left at Rockhurst, some of the seniors wanted to pass along a few words of wisdom:

“Join Greek life, go to church, and always appreciate your Mom’s cooking!” –Maggie Altman

“Live it up before it’s over!” –Mary Kate Faust

“I’m not excited to have the best 4 years of my life come to an end so soon. Party it up while you’re still in school!” –Mark Loeffelholz

“Make sure you get your work done, but college is 4 years of your life to have fun and do crazy things because you won’t get them back.” –Ryan Boersig

“YOLO” –Maddy Kayser

“Live, Laugh, Love” –Eugene Weiss

As their final college semester comes to a close, and graduation is looming overhead, we wish the seniors a safe and wonderful journey into their lives beyond campus and through adulthood. These past four years at Rockhurst have truly been the most incredible four years.

And for the rest of RU community, cherish your time in college and the friendships you make, because before you know it you’ll be asked the same dreaded question.
