It’s a Blue O’KC’tober

The whole nation is watching as playoffs for Major League Baseball are under way. As for Kansas City, the only thing they see is a Blue O’KC’tober.

With a Royals reappearance to the 2014 World Series last year for the first time since 1985 through an eventful wildcard chase, Kansas City is preparing for the back-to-back return.  The infamous fountains of the city have turned blue, post season banners are taking over the Plaza, Union Station displays blue lighting on the building, and the Westport Flea Market is selling its burgers for 1985 prices for the duration of the post season.

The Kansas City Royals won the 2015 AL Division Title with a 12 game lead over the Minnesota Twins which was the first division title won by the Royals since 1985 when they went on to win the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Last week, the Royals went on to win the ALDS against the Houston Astros in game five with a score of 7-2 sending them to the American League Championship Series.

The Royals’ journey to the World Series continues against the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS. The Royals currently lead the series 3 to 1, and play again today at 3:07, with the chance to clinch the ALCS.

As for Kansas City fans, the journey of a blue O’KC’tober also continues.
